Responsible & Ethical Use

Our network exists to serve legitimate business operations. We’ve put concrete commitments in writing — and we enforce them.

Our principles

We provide proxy infrastructure for businesses that operate within applicable laws and ethical norms. We monitor, audit, and enforce against misuse.

What’s allowed

Web scraping for legitimate research, ad verification, brand protection, market intelligence, security testing, SEO monitoring, and similar business operations.

What’s not

Hacking, credential brute-forcing, malware distribution, and email spam. Specific harmful behaviors — not entire industries — are restricted.

What we commit to

Our Service Level Agreement defines uptime guarantees, advance notice for maintenance, and credit-based compensation if we miss our targets.

99.99% monthly uptime

99.99% monthly uptime

Measured per account on a calendar month basis. If uptime drops below threshold, pro-rata service credits are applied to your next invoice.

24-hour advance notice

24-hour advance notice

We’ll provide notice for maintenance in advance. Emergency changes like ISP-initiated blocks, legal requests — are communicated as soon as possible.

Real-time monitoring

Real-time monitoring

Live API endpoint shows offline IPs in your account at any time. Plug into your own alerting pipeline at your preferred polling interval.

Optional Telegram alerts

Optional Telegram alerts

Push notifications for downtime events, degraded performance, and maintenance windows. Available to customers who request access.

What we won’t allow on our network

We take a behavior-first approach to prohibited use. Rather than blanket-banning entire industries, we restrict specific harmful actions.

Unauthorized Access

Unauthorized Access

Hacking accounts, systems, or networks you don’t own or have permission to access.

Credential Brute-Forcing

Credential Brute-Forcing

Automated password attacks, credential stuffing, or any form of authentication abuse

Malware Distribution

Malware Distribution

Using our network to host, distribute, or command malicious software.

Email Spam

Email Spam

Mass unsolicited email sending. We block outbound port 25 at the infrastructure level.

Illegal Activity

Illegal Activity

Any use that violates applicable laws in your jurisdiction or ours.

How we verify our customers

For legitimate businesses, our verification process is invisible. For bad actors, it’s an effective barrier. We use a multi-signal anti-fraud system, professional identity verification, and ongoing usage monitoring.

Email & account patterns

Email reputation, registration history, and account behavior patterns.

IP & geographic signals

IP risk scoring, geographic context, and known threat indicators.

Fraud Detection

Сross-reference against fraud databases to prevent abuse circumvention

Usage behavior analysis

Ongoing review of how new accounts use the service in the first hours and days.

When enhanced verification is required, we use MetaMap — a leading B2B identity verification provider — to perform government ID verification with liveness check. This is the same standard used by financial institutions and regulated marketplaces.

Where our IPs come from

The proxy industry has earned its reputation for opacity. We’re going the other way. Here’s how our different product lines source their IPs.

Static ISP · ISP Rotating · Static DC · Rotating DC

Direct partnerships with established ISPs and datacenter providers.

We hold direct commercial agreements with the ISPs and datacenter operators whose IPs we offer. No intermediaries, no resale chains. This means we know exactly where every IP in these product lines comes from, and we can vouch for how it’s allocated and routed.

Rotating Residential

Vetted ethical sourcing partners.

Residential IPs come from partner networks that operate consent-based opt-in models. We audit our sourcing partners on entry and on an ongoing basis, and we replace partners that fall short of our ethical standards. We don’t operate our own consumer-facing apps to harvest residential IPs.

How we handle your data

PrivateProxy is GDPR-compliant and treats customer data as a liability we minimize, not an asset we accumulate. For service terms and commercial agreements (Terms of Service, MSA), see Legal & commercial documents.

Who we are

More than infrastructure. We’re a team that has spent 16 years building the kind of B2B proxy company we’d want to work with.

UK-incorporated since 2010

UK-incorporated since 2010

Founded in 2010 and incorporated in the United Kingdom. We’ve been in this business longer than most providers in our category — and we’ve watched the industry mature alongside us

Direct ISP relationships

Direct ISP relationships

For our ISP and datacenter product lines, we hold direct commercial agreements with the operators behind the IPs. No intermediaries, no resale chains.

Technical depth in support

Technical depth in support

Real engineers, not script-followers. When clients ask about SMTP, port 25, complex authentication, or unusual setups, we know the answer — and have the depth to help them work through it.

Transparent by design

Transparent by design

This Trust Center is the proof. We publish how we vet customers, where our IPs come from, who we are as a company, and how to reach us when something goes wrong.

Reporting network abuse

We monitor our infrastructure 24/7 to identify and mitigate abuse. We also rely on outside reports — from network admins and anyone who notices something wrong on our IPs. We respond within 48 business hours.

How to report

Email: abuse@privateproxy.me

Include: offending IP, timestamp, evidence (logs / screenshots), your contact information

Response: within 48 business hours

What happens next

We investigate every credible report we receive.
For confirmed misuse, we terminate the offending account and notify the reporter when appropriate.
For ambiguous cases, we follow up with the reporter to gather additional context.

Procurement FAQ

The questions procurement and security teams ask us most often. Honest answers, including where we fall short of certain industry frameworks.

Do you have SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certification?

No. Neither is currently on our roadmap. We provide GDPR compliance, transparent operations, and the trust signals on this page. If your procurement process requires SOC 2 Type II or ISO 27001, we recommend reviewing Bright Data or Oxylabs, which hold these certifications.

Where is your company registered?

United Kingdom. Full corporate details and Companies House link in About our company.

Can you sign a DPA?

Yes. Contact privacy@privateproxy.me for our standard Data Processing Agreement, or to review a custom DPA you provide.

How do you source residential IPs?

Through vetted ethical sourcing partners that operate consent-based opt-in networks. Full details in our Ethical Sourcing page.

What happens if someone misuses your proxies against my network?

Report it to abuse@privateproxy.me with the offending IP and timestamp. We respond within 48 business hours and terminate accounts for confirmed misuse.

What use cases are prohibited?

Hacking, brute-forcing, malware distribution, and email spam (port 25 blocked at infrastructure level). We don't ban entire industries — only specific harmful behaviors. See What we won't allow.

How do you verify customers?

A multi-signal anti-fraud system across four categories (email patterns, IP/geographic risk, duplicate accounts, usage behavior). When enhanced verification is required, we use MetaMap for government ID + liveness check. Approximately 25% of new registrations undergo enhanced verification.

Do you support invoicing for enterprise customers?

Yes. Contact sales@privateproxy.me for invoicing terms.

Can we get a custom contract or MSA?

Yes. We offer Master Service Agreements on request for B2B customers.

Do you serve customers in industries others restrict (gambling, adult, crypto)?

We don't restrict by industry. We restrict specific harmful behaviors. If you operate lawfully in a restricted industry, we'd rather have a conversation about your use case than refuse you on principle.

What's your uptime?

We target 99.9% uptime across our core services. We do not currently maintain a public status page.
